Hinduism is the Only Dharma

Hinduism is the Only Dharma in this multiverse comprising of Science & Quantum Physics.

Josh Schrei helped me understand G-O-D (Generator-Operator-Destroyer) concept of the divine that is so pervasive in the Vedic tradition/experience. Quantum Theology by Diarmuid O'Murchu and Josh Schrei article compliments the spiritual implications of the new physics. Thanks so much Josh Schrei.

VIJAY STAMBHA ~ OF EMPEROR VIKRAMADITYA ~~ TRUTH OF FALSE QUTUB MINAR

http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=131291426923797&set=a.131288093590797.31090.100001288223976

The complex is supposed to be built by the Greatest of Hindu emperors there was MaharajaDhiraj Vikramaditya of Ujjaini , brother of Bharathiri the Kind and Philosopher and originator of Bharathari neeti shataka . The tower is known to have been errected to celebrate the victory of the Great Emperor Vikramaditya , over the lands now called as Arab lands . They have known to celebrate the coming of the vedic way of life .

Vedic culture was very much alive just before the birth of Muhammad. Again let's refer to the Sair-Ul-Okul. The following poem was written by Jirrham Bintoi who lived 165 years before the prophet Muhammed. It is in praise of India's great King Vikramaditya who had lived 500 years before Bintoi.

"Itrasshaphai Santul
Bikramatul phehalameen Karimun
Bihillahaya Samiminela
Motakabbenaran Bihillaha
Yubee qaid min howa
Yaphakharu phajgal asari
nahans Osirim Bayjayholeen
Yaha sabdunya Kanateph natephi
bijihalin Atadari Bilala masaurateen
phakef Tasabahu. Kaunni eja majakaralhada
walhada Achimiman, burukan, Kad, Toluho
watastaru Bihillaha yakajibainana baleykulle amarena
Phaheya jaunabil amaray Bikramatoon" - (Sair-ul-Okul, Page 315)

"Fortunate are those who were born during King Vikram's reign, he was a noble generous, dutiful ruler devoted to the welfare of his subjects. But at that time, We Arabs oblivious of divinity were lost in sensual pleasures. Plotting & torture were rampant. The darkness of ignorance had enveloped our country. Like the lamb struggling for its life in the cruel jaws of a wolf, we Arabs were gripped by ignorance. The whole country was enveloped in a darkness as intense as on a New moon night. But the present dawn & pleasant sunshine of education is the result of the favor of that noble king Vikram whose benevolence did not lose sight of us foreigners as we were. He spread his sacred culture amongst us and sent scholars from his own land whose brilliance shone like that of the sun in our country. These scholars & preceptors through whose benevolence we were once again made aware of the presence of god, introduced to his secret knowledge & put on the road to truth, had come to our country to initiate us in that culture & impart education."

Thus we can see that Vedic religion and culture were present in Pre-Islamic Arabia as early as 1850 B.C., and definitely present at the time of Mohammed's birth.

According to history, the minar was started by Prithviraj or his uncle Vigraharaja who won Delhi from the Tomar Rajputs. However, it is assumed by secularist and anti hindu historians that Qutubuddib and Iltutmish finished it though the pictures will clearly show that the tower may have been commenced by Prithviraj or Vigraharaja.

Anang Pal,the Tomar Rajput King , established Delhi and Lal Kot,which is the area of Kutub Minar and extends up to Lal Quila ,or the demarcation line of old Delhi. In olden days fortresses used to be built at the entrance of a state and the present delineation of Delhi borders extended from South area of Qutub Minar to Red Quila in North Delhi.

The Tomars were descendents of the great Vikramaditya ,who had initially established the Iron Pillar at Vishnupadagiri (meaning “hill with footprint of Vishnu”). This place has been identified as modern Udayagiri, situated in the close vicinity of Besnagar, Vidisha and Sanchi. These towns are located about 50 kilometres east of Bhopal, in central India. There are several aspects to the original erection site of the pillar at Udayagiri. It must be worth noting that Vishnupadagiri is located on the Tropic of Cancer and, therefore, was a centre of astronomical studies during the Gupta period.

The Iron Pillar served an important astronomical function, when it was originally at Vishnupadagiri. The early morning shadow of the Iron Pillar fell in the direction of the foot of Anantasayain Vishnu (in one of the panels at Udayagiri) only in the time around summer solstice (June 21). The creation and development of the Udayagiri site appears to have been clearly guided by a highly developed astronomical knowledge. Therefore, the Udayagiri site, in general, and the Iron Pillar location in particular, provide firm evidence for the astronomical knowledge that existed in ancient India around 400 AD..The pillar was then believed to have been moved to Mathura.

Dhillika is the old name of India's capital, New Delhi. The name Delhi is derived from the word 'Dhillika'. Raja Dhilu (King Dihlu) founded ancient Delhi in 800 BC.It was the name of the first medieval township of Delhi, located on the southwestern border of the present Delhi, in Mehrauli. This was the first in the series of seven medieval cities. It is also known as Yoginipura, that is, the fortress of the yoginis (female divinities). A temple still exists at the entrance of Mehrauli called YOG MAYA TEMPLE. Mehrauli comes from Sanskrit word Mihira-awali. It signifies the town- ship where the well known astronomer Mihira of Vikramaditya's court lived along with his helpers, mathemati-cians and technicians.Delhi however gained in magnificence / importance during the time of Ananga Pala Tomara,in the 11th century. In the 12th century, the city was included in the dominions of Prithviraj Chauhan.

The Iron Pillar ,a symbol of Truth and Nemesis-God Shani of Hindu Religion was brought by Anang Pal of Tomar dynasty to Delhi to establish rule of Clean, truthful and honest governance, from Mathura a land of Krishna devotion. The idea behind it was to establish an orientation to the great epic Mahabharata which is connected to the history of Delhi as well as the significance of Gita, and Yudhishtra’s ascent to heaven in bodily form; from Swargya Rohini..The Hindu rulers built temples and used psychological epigraphs and monuments to instill religion in the local populace ,as they followed the pattern of the common man’s rule,or democratic ,socialist way of functioning as Krishnaji of the Yadav Clan.In China too the common man reigned supreme by the rule of Confucianism laying significance on ritualistic worship. The idea was not to punish after a crime was committed but to deter crime in man.

The Iron pillar bears an inscription in Sanskrit which states that it was erected as a standard in honour of the Hindu god, Vishnu. It also praises the valor and qualities of a king referred to simply as Chandra, who has been identified with the Gupta King Chandragupta II Vikramaditya (375-413). The inscription reads:

“ He, on whose arm fame was inscribed by the sword, when, in battle in the Vanga countries, he kneaded (and turned) back with (his) breast the enemies who, uniting together, came against (him);-he, by whom, having crossed in warfare the seven mouths of the (river) Sindhu, the Vâhlikas were conquered;-he, by the breezes of whose prowess the southern ocean is even still perfumed;-

(Line 3.)-He, the remnant of the great zeal of whose energy, which utterly destroyed (his) enemies, like (the remnant of the great glowing heat) of a burned-out fire in a great forest, even now leaves not the earth; though he, the king, as if wearied, has quitted this earth, and has gone to the other world, moving in (bodily) form to the land (of paradise) won by (the merit of his) actions, (but) remaining on (this) earth by (the memory of his) fame;-

(L. 5.)-By him, the king,-who attained sole supreme sovereignty in the world, acquired by his own arm and (enjoyed) for a very long time; (and) who, having the name of Chandra, carried a beauty of countenance like (the beauty of) the full-moon,-having in faith fixed his mind upon (the god) Vishnu, this lofty standard of the divine Vishnu was set up on the hill (called) Vishnupada.

DEMOLISHED JAIN TEMPLES

The reference was also to the Satvikka Purana [Smirti Texts of Hinduism]called Garuda Purana which is recited as a cremation ritual. The Garuda atop the pillar ,which was removed by muslims, bore testimony to what was inscribed and its relevance to the installation of the pillar. The pillar was used to signify the death principle of Hindus, the need for attaining Mokhsha and the path of Dharma. The iron pillar was the Garud Dhwaj alias Garud Stambh, i.e, the sentinel post of the Vishnu temple. The Sanskrit inscription in Brahmi script on the non-rusting iron pillar proclaimed the lofty standards of Vishnu on Vishnupad Giri. Here in the said precincts ,the description indicates that a statue of the rec- lining Vishnu ;initiating the creation was consecrated in the central shrine there which was ravaged by Mohammad Ghori and his henchman Qutubuddin.

Truth revealed from sky . People usually see this tower from ground. Prof Bhatnagar hired a helicopter and took a photo from the sky. That is when he realised that is a blooming lotus flower.

HINDU TEMPLE PROOF

Sectarianism, bigotry, and its horrible descendant, fanaticism, have long possessed this beautiful earth. They have filled the earth with violence, drenched it often and often with human blood, destroyed civilisation and sent whole nations to despair. Had it not been for these horrible demons, human society would be far more advanced than it is now. But their time is come; and I fervently hope that the bell that tolled this morning in honour of this convention may be the death-knell of all fanaticism, of all persecutions with the sword or with the pen, and of all uncharitable feelings between persons wending their way to the same goal.

PAAN or Betel Leaf

PAAN or Betel Leaf

In the present article, we will start with 'Paan' commonly known as betel leaf which found all through out the island (in Mauritius as well in Tamil Nadu, India mostly and I think it's the same in Trinidad & Tobago as well). Paan is mostly used in Mauritius mainly in religious ceremonies.

Serving Paan in India is a tradition, synonymous with hospitality and culture. Paan is an indispensable part of Indian history. This plant belongs to the family Piperaceae. Its origin has been traced in South India.

There are many stories link with the betel leaves. One is that, once a group of devotees traveled to hell (patal) to worship the snake god 'Nag raj' who being overwhelmed with their upaasana gifted them a betel plant saying that the leaves of this plant would play an important part in their lives. How true this has proved to be seen in the fact, that among Hindus, no ritual is performed can be complete without the betel leaf.

Mantra for offering a betel leaf:
Om Pugipalam mahad divyam nagavalli dalairyutam
Elavangasanyuktam tambulam pratigrihayatam
Meaning: Be kind O Lord, to accept betel nut, cardamon and clove.

Apart from Hindus, even the Moghul rulers of India grew to relish the Paan and no 'darbar' or 'mehfil1 was deemed to be over, unless and until all those attending it had been given Paan.

MEDICINAL VALUE OF PAAN

Paan stimulates the heart and enhances digestion as it is richin essential amino acids particularly Glumtamic, Luciene, Analene, Tryostne, Histidine, Serine and Lysine. It also contains a high percentage of vitamins, namely A, B, B2, B6, B12 and C. It also contains sugars (glucose, fructose, sucrose, and maltose organic acids (maleic, andoxalic), enzymes (catalase, proteinase and diastase en essential minerals.

So next time somebody gives you Paan, think of the of the valuable nutrients it will give to your body from this single green leaf. But, be careful that it does not contain any additives or embellishments like areca-nut, tobacco, and other alkaloids ingredients that are harmful to health.

You must remember that Paan by itself is totally harmless; it is what is added to make it tastier that creates all sorts of problems.

CULTIVATION REQUIREMENTS
This plant should be planted in such a place that it gets both shade and a good amount of sunlight and humidity for a better growth. Usually, the cultivation is done in sheds constructed of hay and bamboos. If, planted under good climatic condition, the betel plant can last for more than 20 years.

What does Namasté mean ?

What does Namasté mean ?

Namaste is a Sanskrit compound word made up of two words namah and te. Te means to you .... Namah means salutations or prostrations. So the simple meaning is: salutations to you. This seems to be quite an innocuous statement. But there is a deeper meaning. When I say 'namaste' to you the words 'to you' certainly refer to the physical 'you' standing or sitting before me but they in fact refer to the Divinity inside you.

Otherwise the word 'namah' which indicates extraordinary respect would not be compatible when addressed to equals. The word namah is used in making prostrations to God and is the repetitively used word when we worship God in the archana form, saying for example, Om Kesavaya namah, Om Narayanaya namah and so on. In each such case the namah is not simple prostration. The namaskara that is implied in the word namah indicates, according to Sri Sathya Sai Baba, an attitude of natitude of 'not mine'.

In other words when you make a prostration to the Lord saying namah, you assume an attitude of total surrender to the Lord, saying that everything I have is yours, Oh Lord; nothing is mine. The Upanishads say therefore that if you worship God with this attitude of surrender expressed through the words namah, then all desires will prostrate at your feet — meaning, you will ultimately conquer all desires. The word namah has such a deep meaning and so when this word is used to greet the person opposite it is not simply an equivalent of a secular greeting used in our everyday world. It is actually a recognition of the divinity within the person opposite you and it is to that divinity that you are prostrating with an attitude of surrender, that is, an attitude of na-mama-kara in the awareness of the presence of the ever-present Divinity.

Are you Hindu Conscious ? by Dr Frank Morales (Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya)

”The number of Hindus currently living in our world is truly impressive. According to reliable sources, there are as many as a staggering one-billion Hindus in the world today. There are as many as three-million Hindus living in the U.S. alone. Indeed, if you found yourself drawn to reading this column, you are yourself most likely one of this teeming number of self-identified Hindus. While the numbers of Hindus in the world may be impressive, however (and the numbers are indeed to be seen as a source of pride), numbers alone don’t always point to the actual strength of a religion”. The number of adherents of a religion do not, after all, always correspond to the quality of the individuals practicing the religion. And it is really the inner strength of the individual religious persons that is the source of the outer strength of any religion.

This is the case for Hinduism (Sanatana Dharma) as much as any other religion ”Religion is ultimately not just a numbers game. Rather it is a matter of personal conviction, depth of realization, and inner spiritual experience. Religion is ultimately a radically personal experience, and not just a group dynamic or a demographic statistic. This truth being the case, I have made a distinction between two types of “Hindus” in the world today. There are what I call “Nominal Hindus” and “Conscious Hindus”. The real question for you is: Which of these two types of Hindus are you? ”A Nominal Hindu is a Hindu in name only. That is, they have no difficulty necessarily saying that they’re Hindu. That comes easy enough. But this mostly cultural identity is often as far as the typical Nominal Hindu is willing to go into exploring the depths of their spirituality. The real question, of course, is not just are you willing to call yourself Hindu but are you consciously and sincerely practicing Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism)? ”Like the Nominal Hindu, the Conscious Hindu also has no difficulty proclaiming “mein hindu hun.” I am a Hindu.” But unlike the Nominal Hindu, the Conscious Hindu actually knows what this claim meansand he knows so as a result of his own personal experience.

The Conscious Hindu not only identifies with Sanatana Dharma, the most ancient and profound spiritual system the world has ever known, but he also has immense pride in this heritage, and isn’t afraid to show it! ”More, the Conscious Hindu knows that it is his duty to not only revel in the greatness of Dharmic culture, but that to be a true Hindu he must also do everything in his power to live the life of a Hindu. A Conscious Hindu joyfully embraces the Hindu lifestyle ”As a Conscious Hindu, you must be knowledgeable about the philosophy and teachings of Sanatana Dharma, reading the Bhagavad Gita daily and familiarizing yourself with the meaning of Dharma. More, you must know that it isn’t enough to merely read about Sanatana Dharma, but that you must also practice its principles (puja, meditation, arati, Yoga, etc.) and ethics (non-stealing, not lying, being noble, etc.). Finally, it also is not even enough merely to practice Dharma by rote, but you must practice with the ultimate end-goal in mind: The goal of Sanatana Dharma ” Hinduism ” is to know, and love, and serve Bhagavan ” God. The ultimate purpose of both Hinduism, and life itself, is having deep and abiding Bhakti devotion toward God ”It is ultimately only by living your life as a Conscious Hindu – reclaiming your spiritual heritage in Sanatana Dharma and joyously practicing this path ” that you will know the true happiness, peace, fulfillment and joy that your spiritual tradition has to offer you. Become a Conscious Hindu, live the Hindu lifestyle, and begin to experience the true joy of the presence of God in your life ”

http://agniveer.com/3050/scientific-errors-in-hinduism/

A new propaganda has become popular over last few months that is being pursued aggressively on internet sites, discussion groups and social networking sites. We have received more than 50 references to this propaganda through emails, comments and messages either in support of it or with a request to counter it. Simply type “Scientific Errors in Hinduism” and you shall get a huge number of results on this.

Initially we thought this to be a childish blabbering not worth being taken seriously. But going by the alarming rate of its propagation, and considering the average mental aptitude of those trying to demean Vedas to establish a medieval era book as the only escape for all human beings from a burning Hell to an amorous Paradise, we find it necessary to issue a rebuttal.

The original text comes in different variations but essentially provides a few mantras from Vedas and some other tall claims to showcase Hinduism as unscientific. We are attaching a sample copy for the complete set your reference here:

Scientific Errors in Hinduism 1

We shall review each of the claims of the document point by point We shall provide the original text of the document as ‘Jihadi Claim’ and follow with our own comments. (We shall provide simple meanings of the mantras in question that would suffice the purpose of refuting the bogus claims. However please note that vedic mantras have extremely deep meanings that cannot be adequately represented here and requires mastery of the subjects).

Next time you come across this propaganda, simply copy paste from here.

Lets start:
Scientific Errors in Hinduism
1. Vedas say Earth is static!

a. Jihadi Claim:

According to Vedas, the earth is static and this statement is repeated several times. The following are some of the examples:
Oh Man ! He who made the trembling earth static is Indra. (Rig Ved 2/12/12)

Agniveer:

Actual translation: He who ensures that the sun with seven color bands that shines, the clouds that rain, air that circulates, water bodies that nourish us - all work in harmony to provide us life and vitality has been managed by Indra or the Ishwar who provides prosperity.

There is nothing about static earth in this mantra.

b. Jihadi Claim:

The God who made the earth stable (Yajur Ved 32/6)

Agniveer:

Unfortunately the scientist who wrote this could not distinguish between stable and static. Anything that moves or stays in equilibrium as per defined laws in stable and when there is an element of randomness or unpredictability it becomes unstable.Stability DOES NOT mean lack of motion.

By the way, this is a celebrated Mantra recited by Hindus daily and means: May we surrender all our actions and thoughts only to Him who has stabilized the sun and other illuminating bodies, the earth, the heavenly bodies and the entire universe solely for our happiness and who provides us ultimate bliss after Mukti or salvation.

Very clearly the mantra says that all heavenly bodies are stable include sun. Thus even by wildest stretch of “Heavenly”imagination one cannot bring such a ridiculous meaning to this mantra that implies earth as being static.

c. Jihadi Claim:

Indra protects the wide earth which is immovable and has many forms (Atharv Ved 12/1/11)

Agniveer:

This is the mantra from the famous Bhumi Sukta which forms the origin of the sense of love that patriots demonstrate for Dharti Mata. When one reads this Sukta today considering how our freedom fighters would die for this soil and often carrying this soil in hand till last breath, one cannot help getting his eyes wet with sense of gratitude towards those great legends whose debts we have to repay through our deeds.

The particular mantra means: O Earth, you provide me with great snow-capped mountains and hills, forests, farms, food, herbs and rains so that I am always happy, protected and nurtured. You provide me the support I need to live like a king. The next mantra continues – You are my mother, O Earth, and I am your son. You purify us and may we be able to repay your blessings through our noble actions.

What could be a better thought on love for mother earth! But perhaps patriotism and allegiance to soil is alien to Jihadi mindsets. That is why this is so unscientific for them!

d. Jihadi Claim:

Let us walk on the Wide and Static earth (Atharv Ved 12/1/17)

Agniveer:

Actual meaning: “May we travel all around the earth that provides us prosperity, nutrition, medicines and supports us in a variety of ways.

The foolish Jihadi just saw the word “Dhruva” and started imagining silly things. “Dhruva” means something that provides reliable support.

On contrary there are several mantras in Vedas that clearly discuss the movement of earth. Some examples:

Rig Veda 10.22.14
“This earth is devoid of hands and legs, yet it moves ahead. All the objects over the earth also move with it. It moves around the sun.

Rig Veda 10.149.1
“The sun has tied Earth and other planets through attraction and moves them around itself as if a trainer moves newly trained horses around itself holding their reins.”

Yajur Veda 33.43
“The sun moves in its own orbit in space taking along with itself the mortal bodies like earth through force of attraction.”

Rig Veda 1.35.9
“The sun moves in its own orbit but holding earth and other heavenly bodies in a manner that they do not collide with each other through force of attraction.

Rig Veda 1.164.13
“Sun moves in its orbit which itself is moving. Earth and other bodies move around sun due to force of attraction, because sun is heavier than them.
2. Vedas say sun moves around the earth

e. Jihadi claim:

1. “Sun is full of light and knows all the human beings, so his horses take him to sky to look at the world” (Rig Ved 1/50/1)

Agniveer:

Again this is a daily prayer mantra for Hindus. It actually means: The way rays of sun enable the world to see the sun, in same manner all noble people should propagate their goodness far and wide through good deeds and teachings.

There is no horse in this mantra nor it talks about sun moving around any earth.

f. Jihadi claim:

2. “O, Bright sun, a chariot named harit with seven horses takes you to sky” (Rig Ved 1/50/8)

Agniveer:

Actual meaning: “The way seven rays of sun carry its illumination across the world like horses of a chariot, in same manner you should understand seven kinds of Chhanda of Vedas.”

One can try to interpret this mantra to mean that sun moves. But then how would one explain rays as seven horses. Because rays emanate from all around the sun and not necessarily in the direction of sun’s motion only. Further, Vedas in any case do not deny that sun moves. In fact Vedas clearly state that sun also moves and there is no absolutely static body in universe. BUT THERE IS NO MENTION OF MOTION AROUND THE EARTH IN THIS OR ANY OTHER MANTRA. As per Vedas, sun has a different motion in its own orbit. (refer Rigveda 1.35.9)

g. Jihadi claim:

3. “O, man, the sun who is most attractive, takes round of the earth, on his golden chariot through the sky and removes the darkness of the earth” (Yajur Ved 33/43)

Agniveer:

Actual meaning: “The sun moves in its own orbit in space taking along with itself the mortal bodies like earth through force of attraction.”

This is exactly what happens in reality. Even the most basic text on astronomy would cover this subject. Actually Jihadi scriptures had no notion of the concept of gravitational force causing Jihadi scientists to raise a red-herring on this.

h. Jihadi claim:

4. Vedas say The Bull has supported the Sky
“The Bull has supported the sky.” Yajur Ved: 4: 30

Agniveer:

Classic case of “One burnt in rainy season seeing only green color”! The Jihadi scientist simply saw the word “Vrishabh” and created yet another imagination by assuming it to mean a bull.

“Vrishabh” actually means an entity which is powerful, possessing high potentials or simply the best. It later came to mean the ‘bull’ also because the ‘bull’ is symbol of raw power. There is hardly any animal which can match the bull in power and speed. Even a lion not dare attack a bull from front.

The actual meaning of the mantra is: “O All Powerful Ishwar, you permeate all across the universe, create and nurture the earth, stabilize the sun, manage the heavenly bodies and sky and ensure like a righteous king that everything functions in correct manner. This is your inherent nature.”

i. Jihadi claim:

“The Bull has supported the sky.” Yajur Ved: 14:5

Agniveer:

This mantra does not have any word that can mean a bull. This is a mantra on duties of a wife. It states: “O wife! May you be pleasing to your husband and indulged in noble activities. May you be extremely intelligent and further your knowledge through study like the sun. May you provide bliss to everyone in same manner as the brilliant sun provides food, light and purity to all. May you please everyone in same manner as water satisfies all. May you promote knowledge all across.”

Indeed, an amazing mantra showing the Vedic respect for a woman. What can be a better example of women empowerment!

3. Miscellaneous allegations

j. Jihadi claims and Agniveer response to rest of the article

The rest of this silly article provides references from Puranas on how Hinduism is unscientific. But Purans are not at all considered evidence in matter of Dharma. Only Vedas are considered divine and we have adequately demonstrated how stupid are the claims of Vedas being ‘unscientific’. As for Purans, they even contain descriptions of Muhammad, Akbar and Victoria showing that they continued to be written till 19th century, obviously under might of the incumbent rule. So we shall simply not dwell into exploring the references given. We however doubt that even there, these Jihadi scientists would have made the same kind of blunders like they did while proving Muhammad in Bhavishya Puran as a demon worthy of being punished! Refer Prophet in Bhavishya Puran.

Two additional points remains to be covered apart from the references from Puran. Let us review them:

k. Jihadi claim:

7. Vedas / Puranas recommend looking directly into the sun with naked eye. The Vedas and Puranas say that all Hindus must pray to the sun god SURYA, and that if you look at the sun daily every morning with your naked eyes, your sight will improve. Accordingly many Hindus practise this act of worship; but instead of their eyesight improving, India is the country that has the most blind people in the world (2.5 million blind people and 9 million with corneal blindness). There is no scientific truth in sun worship, and on the contrary the scientist and doctors advise everyone not to look at the sun directly with the naked eye. Who is telling us the truth, the Scientists or the Hindu scriptures? You be the judge!

Agniveer:

1. No references are given. Only a vague allegation.

2. Yes, it is a natural treatment of India for eyes by watching sunrise. There has been no a single case in world that has caused damage to eyesight because they watched a sunrise or sunset. Refer Solar observing and Eye Safety http://mintaka.sdsu.edu/GF/vision/Galileo.html that provides references to several technical papers on this subject.

3. Damage to eyes happen when watching bright sun or eclipse. And Hindus rightfully strongly recommend staying away from gazing sun during those times.

4. The statistics on blindness in India is interesting. But can the Jihadi scientist also provide details on how many of these blinds were Hindus and how many contracted blindness due to watching sunrise? Cataract is the prime cause for blindness in developing countries and not a single research cited sunrise watching as cause of blindness. Also the prevalence of blindness is slightly more in Pakistan compared to India. What religion do they follow? Refer WHO research on this.

l. Jihadi claim:

8. Vedas say cow is holy and should be worshipped. (Brahmins add that cow dung ash has medicinal value). The Vedas say that the cow is holy and should be worshipped. These Brahmins also claim that cow dung ash has medicinal value. Samples sent to a leading test laboratory in West Germany have proved this to be untrue.

Agniveer:

1. Yes Vedas indeed emphatically state that cow is most precious to sensible human beings and those who kill cows for short-term taste of tongues are indeed among the dumbest. Because a living cow, even if sterile, produces more benefits for environment than a dead cow. Almost all outputs from a cow – milk, dung, urine – has a beneficial impact on environment and health. A smart community can sustain its powers through preservation of cows alone.

2. Kindly cite the name of lab which proved cow dung ash to be useless. Kindly do not provide vague references. By the way, West Germany ceases to exist since 1990! I recall how Zakir Naik also gives reference to research by some illiterate ‘farmer’ in California to justify Halal Meat. This shows the standards of the references of Jihadi scientists! Refer Zakir Naik defends Halal Meat.

3. Cow dung has been proven to produce tremendous benefits including construction of bricks. There are at least 4 International Patents (US/ Europe) on cow urine that we are aware of. Simply search on google with ‘cow urine patent’.

4. Thus rightfully Hindus regard cow to be as important as mother.

Before concluding, let me assert a few points:

a. Science lies not into in scriptures of Hindus but even more so in the foundations of their culture. Even the most basic traditions, despite being polluted by superstitions and foreign impacts, are based on most scientific principles. Namaste with folded hands is scientific, bangles and ear-rings for women is scientific, drinking lots of water in early morning as Usha Paan is scientific, avoiding non-veg in pretext of some festival etc to extent possible is scientific, monogamy is scientific, considering all women except wife as equivalent to mother is scientific, encouraging children to ask questions is scientific, meditation is scientific, pranayam is scientific, desi vyayam is scientific, not eating together from same plate and avoiding exchange of saliva is scientific, washing hands several times with a separate soap and water after bowels is scientific, washing organs properly with water during bath to avoid needing circumcision merely to maintain hygiene is scientific etc etc.

b. Thus a typical educated Hindu is able to easily inculcate scientific spirit and rationalism and progress ahead.

c. Proof of the pudding is in the eating. There are around 50 countries in the world with Muslim majority. Showcase how many renowned scientists have they produced, how many researchers, how many engineers of world repute? There has been ONLY ONE Muslim scientist worth being considered – the Nobel Prize winner Dr Abdus Salam of Pakistan. But he was thrown out of the country and declared Kafir because he was a Qadiyani. Thus no Zakir Naik would dare take his name. When he died in 1996, on his grave was inscribed “FIRST MUSLIM NOBEL LAUREATE”. But due to orders of government, the word MUSLIM was removed. It now reads “FIRST NOBEL LAUREATE”!

Compare with Hindus. They are at top positions everywhere despite all odds. Right from inception of civilization, this culture has produced the most brilliant minds and continues till today. The reason obviously lies in the scientific foundations of the culture here.

Thus while a Pakistan is crumbling under its own weight after independence, India is surging ahead despite having a corrupt leadership and minority appeasement based mindset of its selfish leaders.

We strongly recommend those who have been brainwashed to hate non-Muslims and especially Hindus for most silly reasons to introspect on this. We suggest they review Science in Vedas to understand the right perspective on Vedas. Follow that with lots of material available on Science of Vedas on internet and the entire series on Vedas on Agniveer to get the right concepts of Vedas. And stop this hatred in name of religion which only makes one even more dumber!

Vedas clearly declare that either you can have hatred or intelligence but not both!

(I request visitors to help brainwashed Jihadis by providing them more info and links on Science in Hinduism and Vedas)

May the truth prevail!

What Are The Symptoms Of Skin Cancer?

What Are The Symptoms Of Skin Cancer?

Skin cancer first appears as a growth, or abnormal accumulation of cells. It sometimes takes the form of a sore or pimple that does not heal. The sore may bleed or ooze fluid, crust or scab over, and then ooze or bleed again. Cancer can occur on almost area of the skin, but is most common on areas often exposed to the sun. Skin cancer usually is painless.

Symptoms of skin cancer

How can you tell if a mole is cancerous?

Where does skin cancer usually develop?
Symptoms Of Skin Cancer

The most common symptoms are:

1. A new growth on the skin.

2. A change in an existing skin growth.

3. A sore that does not heal.

Not all changes in the skin are symptoms of skin cancer. Most moles and other growths are harmless and do not need to be removed. Moles that are unattractive, or in areas where they are constantly irritated by clothing, can be removed by a doctor.

The average person has dozens of moles and other skin growths that are benign or noncancerous. They include:
Birthmarks, or "congenital nevi," are moles that are present at birth.

Acquired moles begin to develop early in adolescence, growing and darkening throughout the teenage years. Many adults have 40-60 acquired moles.

Liver spots, or "solar lentigines," are flat tan-to-brown spots that occur mainly on the face, neck, hands, and forearms. They have nothing to do with the liver. Rather, they develop as a result of aging and sun exposure.

Seborrheic keratoses are raised, wart-like, tan-to-brown growths that occur as people age.

Acquired cherry angiomas are smooth, dome-shaped red spots that usually develop on the chest and back. Most are bright red, and appear as people age.

Skin tags are small, soft flaps of skin that grow on the neck, in the armpits, and groin area are caused by repeated friction.

Actinic keratoses are slightly scaly, reddish patches that form on people with sun-damaged skin. They are precancerousgrowths that may changes into a squamous cell carcinoma. That's why doctors recommend removal of actinic keratoses.

How Can You Tell If A Mole Is Cancerous?

Although most skin growths are not cancer, it's important to check with the doctor about new growths or changes in old growths. When growths become cancerous, they may change in size or color, or become sores that do not heal.

Doing a regular skin self-examination is a good way to monitor the skin for early symptoms of skin cancer. Skin self examination is especially important for people who have had skin cancer. It can detect new cancers, and recurrences of past cancer, at an early and most curable stage.

How-To Information:

When doing a skin self-examination, take special care in looking for growths that may be melanoma. Check with the doctor immediately if any moles show the danger signs. They can be remembered by thinking of the ABCDs of malignant melanoma.

For further information about melanoma, go to Melanoma.
Asymmetry - when one half of the growth has a different shape than the other.

Border irregular - when the growth has scalloped or uneven edges

Color varied - with the growth is more than one color. Melanomas may be black, shades of brown and tan, and even have specks of red, white, and blue.

Diameter - a size, measured edge to edge, bigger than the diameter of a pencil eraser.

Where Does Skin Cancer Usually Develop?

Basal cell carcinomas usually occur on parts of the body that are often exposed to the sun. These are the face, neck, V-shaped area of the chest, and upper back. They occur less often on the top sides of the arms and hands.
These tumors sometimes look like a sore or pimple that does not heal.

They may ooze yellowish fluid, crust over with a scab, and then break down and ooze again.

When the surrounding skin is stretched, a basal cell carcinoma has a pearly gray look, with tiny blood vessels often visible inside the tumor.

Squamous cell carcinomas also appear most often on the face and neck, V-shaped are of the chest, and upper back. They are more likely than basal cells carcinomas to form on the top of the arms and hands.
Squamous cell carcinomas look like an inflamed (pinkish or reddish), scaly growth that feels sore or tender.

Some may repeatedly break open, bleed, and crust - never fully healing.

Malignant melanomas usually form on the trunk (the area of the body between the neck and the hips) or legs. These areas don't get constant sun exposure. Rather, they are areas that get periodic intense exposure and sun burn.
Melanomas may form from an existing mole or freckle, or begin to grow from a normal-appearing area of the skin.

Moles and freckles are usually light to dark brown and have a clear-cut edge or border.

Melanomas usually are multi-colored. The may combine different shades of brown and black, sometimes with areas of red, white or blue.

They often have an irregular or uneven border.

They may sometimes bleed.

Nice To Know:

Q. How can I tell if a skin growth is dangerous? Is there any special appearance that I should watch for?

A. Only a doctor can tell between a benign growth and cancer. Sometimes, it takes a biopsy for the doctor to be sure. In general, however, be alert for growths that enlarge and ooze fluid or blood, crust or clot over, and then ooze or bleed again. A sore that doesn't heal after a week or two may be cancerous. Be on the lookout for moles or skin spots that are:
Bigger from edge to edge than a pencil eraser

Have uneven or ragged edges

Show combinations of more than one color

Have a different appearance on one half than on the other

Those are warning signs of possible skin cancer. Check with the doctor if they occur.

Ask your pharmacist for any cream with benoxyl peroxide. start with the one with 5% benoxyl peroxide, if your face aint sensitive, use the 10% one. also make sure your face is always clean and avoid cleansers and astringents with alcohol. it's usually too harsh on the face.

have u tried the mixture of mashed banana with honey? just tell me tanx after usage

Inexpensive stuff to use.

Mix kerosene + black soap+ honey and use 2wice a day

U gonna thank me in 3 weeks.

Have fun

The best product I have used in Glyquin fading cream. It is prescription, but you can order online. Also, try exfoliating with moist coffee grounds weekly. Moisturize the coffee grinds with honey & Vitamin E and let it stay on your face for about 15 minutes, and then rinse with warm water. Next, moisturize your face with Vitamin E. Also, take a Vitamin B complex pill twice daily. Do not pick the bumps because this causes the dark spots to be even worse. Also, if the dark spots are caused by ingrown hairs (not acne), try using tend skin and then shave (do not tweeze) the hair. I am female, and my skin is doing so much better now!

Try using Clear essence lemon plus vitamin c series.http://www.clearessence.com/clearessence.com/clearessence/productseries.php?cPath=44 . Use the perfecting serum or the smoothing cream. You can get it from any cosmetic shop or even in the market. It works really slowly but that's the beauty of it:it won't make u lighter. It may brighten your complexion a teeny weeny bit. I use the smoothing cream and I'm very dark but no one has commented that I've grown lighter. But I'm seeing results with each passing day.

I know what you're going through also. I used to have a lot of pimples, then i started to use pro-active but i still had scars all over my faces. What i did was buy Vitamin-E capsules with gel, then i poke the capsule open and rub the gel all over my face. Vitamin-E is one of the #1 cures to marks on skin. I did it and it worked. It doens't take long for you to notice changes though. Good luck.

stop picking the acnes, if u do then d problem is half solved. I did, and it helped to some extent and presently i use rose water, which is working for me. U might wanna try it

I have the same problem. My dermatologist called it Hyper-Pigmentation, which is common among black people. Your best option is to go to a dermatologist and let him prescribe whatever is best for your particular skin, because if you experiment too much, and follow alot of other people's advice you could end up damaging your skin or burning it. Your skin is very delicate. That is what happened to me. But my dermatologist gave me Brevoxyl-8 and Retina Micro, these worked wonders. I don't know your situation, but if you cannot see a dermatologist, the best thing is to wash in the morning and at night with Dove soap for sensitive skin, and at night before bed rub Palmer's Cocoa Butter alll over your face to blend your skin and fade the black spots. I use these products and my face looks great now. Also never, ever use skin bleaches or lighteners cos these products will casue more acne and will burn your skin and make the spots worse, if you use these you will be sorry, trust me I been there and done that. Good Luck!! I hope you find something soon.

Hi,

U can try Betnovate C Cream, though a bit scarce, u can only get it from a pharmacy. Does not lighten nor bleach and d spots fades overtime. It was a recommemded to me by a pharmacist. I"ve used it and is good.

Honey on the face is a good moisturiser but definetely not for spots.

the best thing to do is to stop eating junk food and wash properly with detol soap when i say wash properly this means day and night and make sure you wash the soap offffffffffff properly

hi try applying honey on your face or that particular spot for 10-15minutes daily. Pls! be consistent with it for like a week. it should definitely help.

poster don't try any cream containing Hydroquinone, it wil damage your skin possibly causing u skin cancer

There is a supplement called spirulina , u could mix it up into your cream and that's all you have been looking for!

There are several things you can do and it takes discipline to do it.

You first have to make sure that you drink plenty water and eat enough fruits (assorted). Also exercise as that helps a lot.
Always stay clean and keep your environment clean. Bacteria is usually the cause of it.

I will advice you use black soap and shea butter or cocoa butter to moisturize. Wash your face morning and night with black soap and moisturize with shea butter.

I don't naturally have the same problem as you do, but my family does (I'm the very lucky one) my sisters and mother use it, and it's working for them. Their skins are much clearer, so if u decide to try it, I hope it works for u.

There are several home remedies for it so you don't have to start buying expensive chemical creams.
Here are a few suggestions for you:

Sandalwood
Tomatoes (cut and rub on face, the natural acid does wonders)
Apply Vitamin E.

Acne Is A Message From Your Body Telling You Something Is WRONG Inside

Your body sends you messages all the time. Most of us ignore the majority of them. Acne, blackheads and many other skin disorders and all its related symptoms are after all a desperate message from your body telling you something is wrong inside.

Your acne, the infection, redness and irritation associated with it, are like an alarm signal warning you that your house (your body) is on fire. By ignoring those messages, your condition is bound to get worse. When your house is on fire, you cannot shut off the alarm, go to sleep and expect everything to return to normal.

By using drugs and creams to shut your body's alarm system, you are practically ignoring your body's messages and neglecting the root cause of your problem, thus making your condition worse in the long run.

The only way you can ever cure your acne is from within by listening to what your body is trying to tell you, work with it and free yourself.

When I finally figured that out along with what was going on in the acne and skin care industries, I decided I had to take action so I put things on paper and began guiding other acne sufferers using this new clear skin system I developed. Now, for the first time ever, the same clear skin system that has helped thousands of acne sufferers all over the world to transform their acne into a clear and flawless skin is available to you in a single, jam-packed, 220 page e-book:

Your treatment must take place inside as well as out.
It is important to scrub your skin with a facial scrub or preferrably a brush made with natural fibers.Uric acid, dead cells and general toxins are eliminated through the skin and would damage healthy cells if not eliminated.
On the other hand,i would suggest taking Vitamin A,B complex,B5,D and E as well as calcium and magnesium(Anti-oxidant,improve blood circulation and repair body tissue).Take GINSENG if you can manage to lay your hands on it.
Don't get too much sun and detoxify your liver using Aloe vera gel and fruit juice.
It will be convenient to do a peeling with a cream containg AHA or retin-A as these promote a change of old skin cells for new ones.

Good Luck

What are freckles?
Freckles, also known as ephelides, are 2 mm to 4 mm tan, discrete specks or spots which develop over sun-exposed surfaces, particularly the cheeks and nose. They are most common in fair-skinned individuals. Microscopically, the freckle is distinguished by increased melanin production. They are first noticed during childhood and are common in fair-skinned individuals. Usually occurring on the face, they darken on sun exposure. The spots develop randomly on the skin, especially after repeated exposure to sunlight and

particularly in persons of fair complexion. Freckles vary in color -- they may be red,

yellow, tan, light-brown, brown, or black -- but they
are always darker than the skin around them since they are due to deposits of the dark pigment called melanin. The word "freckle" comes from the Middle English "freken," which, in turn, came from the Old Norse "freknur," meaning "freckled." (Some speakers of Old English and Old Norse must have had a tendency to developing freckles.)

Freckles are small brownish spots on human skin, predominantly found on the face. Predisposition to freckles is genetic, though exposure to sunlight is a factor in how many appear. The gene for freckling is related to the presence of red hair. Based on recent genetic research, it has been suggested that this gene had Neanderthalic origins. (The basis of the claim is the age of the gene; this is not in itself proof, since Homo erectus pre-existed the Neanderthals.)

Freckles are small flat brown marks arising on the face and other sun exposed areas. They are seen in children and in fair skinned people especially those with red hair who have an inherited predisposition for them. On the face and other areas exposed to the sun they are an inherited characteristic. These small brown marks are most often seen in fair skinned people, especially those with red hair. Known as ephilides, the colour is due to pigment accumulating in the skin cells (keratinocytes). Ephilides are prominent in summer but fade considerably or disappear in winter as the keratinocytes are replaced by new cells. As the person ages this type of freckle generally become less noticeable. Apart from sun protection, no particular treatment is necessary.

Larger flat brown spots on the face and hands arising in middle age also result from sun damage exposure. Unlike freckles they tend to persist for long periods and don't disappear in the winter (though they may fade). Commonly known as age spots or liver spots, the correct term for a single lesion is benign solar lentigo (plural lentigines). Lentigines are common in those with fair skin but are frequently seen in those who tan easily or have naturally dark skin. Lentigines are due to accumulated pigment cells (melanocytic hyperplasia).

If the brown marks are scaly, they may be solar keratoses (sun damage) or seborrhoeic keratoses (senile warts). These are usually treated by cryotherapy. It is important to distinguish the benign solar lentigo from an early malignant melanoma, the lentigo maligna. If the freckle has arisen recently, is made up of more than one colour or has irregular borders or if you have any doubts, see your dermatologist for advice. They fade in winter and, in the absence of sunscreen, increase in number and darken in the summer. They have no malignant potential, and no treatment, apart from sunscreen, is recommended.

How to get rid of freckles?
Bleaching agents, the most conventional treatment for freckles, have limited success in masking the appearance of freckles. Bleaching agents attempt to fade the freckles to a color approximating that of the surrounding skin. However, they can sometimes lighten or darken the skin surrounding the freckles, calling even more attention to the spots. Occassionally, bleaching agents cause

rashes or chemical burns. Some people have had success using alpha hydroxy acids on a regular

basis, combined with sun
avoidance and the use of sunblock. Some dermatologists recommend prescription-strength retinoids for the treatment of freckles. Modern treatments for lightening freckles include freezing them with liquid nitrogen, and the use of strong acid peels or ablative laser treatments. Freezing, chemical peels and ablative laser treatments, while more effective than conventional treatments, can damage healthy skin, cause scarring and require lengthy recovery times. The use of Intense Pulsed Light is a new treatment option for those wanting to fade their freckles.

Freckle removal is easily achieved with lasers. Before lasers, it was difficult to remove freckles because the lesions are so small. But with laser, the treatment can be pinpointed at even a very small spot. Other methods used to remove freckles include laser resurfacing, Retin-A, and chemical peels. Laser resurfacing is a pretty significant procedure to recover from, so it is usually done only when there is severe sun damage or undesired wrinkles to remove as well. Retin-A is a good treatment, but good results take several to many months of use of the product. Chemical peels are of two main types, superficial, and deeper. The superficial peels, such as glycolic peels, are able to remove freckles, but usually with many repeated treatments. The deeper peels will get rid of freckles all at once, but recovery is more significant.

What treatments are available to remove freckles?
Efforts to diminish the appearance of freckles go back centuries. Ancient Egyptians used oil of fenugreek to fade freckles and age spots. In more modern cultures, lemon juice was a favorite home remedy. All of that gave way to modern cosmetics and bleaching agents, none of which have been overly effective. More advanced techniques including freezing, chemical peels, dermabrasion and

laser resurfacing may get rid of freckles and age spots, but such treatments can be painful, and

they may damage healthy skin or
cause scarring.

Conventional treatments for freckles include cosmetic cover-ups and bleaching creams, neither of which have garnered satisfactory results. Heavy cosmetics need frequent touchups, and are not a good fit for today’s active lifestyles. Bleaching agents attempt to fade the freckles to a color approximating that of the surrounding skin. However, they can sometimes lighten or darken the skin surrounding the freckles, calling even more attention to the spots. Occassionally, bleaching agents cause rashes or chemical burns.

Some people have had success using alpha hydroxy acids on a regular basis, combined with sun avoidance and the use of sunblock. Some dermatologists recommend prescription-strength retinoids for the treatment of freckles. More modern treatments for lightening freckles include freezing them with liquid nitrogen, and the use of strong acid peels or ablative laser treatments which are also used to treat fine lines and wrinkles. Freezing, chemical peels and ablative laser treatments, while more effective than conventional treatments, can damage healthy skin, cause scarring and demand lengthy recovery times.

Most prescription creams used to lighten the skin contain hydroquinone. Bleaches lighten and fade darkened skin patches by slowing the production of melanin so those dark spots gradually fade to match normal skin coloration. Prescription bleaches contain twice the amount of hydroquinone, the active ingredient, as over-the-counter skin bleaches. In more severe cases prescription creams with tretinoin and a cortisone cream are added. These are somewhat irritating to sensitive skin and will take 3-6 months to produce improvement.

There are now several highly effective laser treatments. The q-switched ruby and other pigmented lesion lasers often remove pigment without scarring. A test spot in an inconspicuous place will need to be done as they sometimes make things worse instead of better. Intense pulsed light (Photoderm) has a similar effect. Carbon dioxide and Erbium:YAG lasers vaporise the surface skin thus removing the pigmented lesions. Results are variable but sometimes very impressive with minimal risk of scarring. With superficial resurfacing techniques, there is minimal discomfort and no down-time but several treatments are often necessary. Unfortunately the treatment occasionally makes the pigmentation worse. Continued careful sun protection is essential, because the pigmentation is likely to recur next summer. Unsightly benign skin moles may be removed using traditional surgical techniques (excision biopsy or with a resurfacing laser.

There are also natural remedies to fade or get rid of freckles. Wash your face with sour milk. Lactic acid will provide gentle peeling effect without irritating or drying your skin. Lemon juice is a time proven freckle fighting remedy. It is not necessary to rub your skin with a piece of lemon. Applying the juice with your fingers will do the job. Fruit and vegetable masks (apricots, strawberries, cucumbers, red currant). Sour cream mask. Do not rinse this mask completely, just remove gently with a facial tissue, then apply a moisturizer. For oily skin - use lemon juice before applying the mask. Natural parsley juice (or parsley infusion) mixed with equal amounts of lemon juice, orange juice, and red currant juice under your favorite cream will help you keep your freckles invisible.

How can freckles be prevented?
Many people would rather not develop freckles or, if they already have freckles, they would like to get rid of them. Freckle prevention is obviously better than developing them and then needing to treat them. Therefore, anyone with an hereditary tendency to freckle -- who freckles easily -- should wear sunscreen whenever appropriate and also minimize their sun exposure. The aim here is twofold -- to

suppress their tendency to produce freckles and, much more importantly, to reduce

their risk of developing skin cancer. The tendency
to freckle easily goes along with the tendency to sun-sensitive skin cancer. Freckles are a warning to people who have them that their skin is highly vulnerable to sunburn and to skin cancer. There are steps that can be taken to prevent them, lessen their appearance, and fade them considerably.

Use sunscreen. Wear a sunscreen that blocks both UVA and UVB rays. The product should contain one or more of the following active ingredients: Parsol® 1789 (avobenzone), titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. Apply the sunscreen every day when you get up, and reapply every two hours or after swimming or sweating.

Wear a hat. Get a broad-brimmed hat without mesh or weave that could let light through. A hat is a great way to take shade with you everywhere, and it will keep the sun from directly hitting your face.

Avoid peak sun hours. If you can, don’t go outside between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., as this is when the sun is most intense.

Stay out of tanning beds. These devices expose your skin to lots of pigment-inducing UV radiation, and it’s only inches from your skin. One tanning bed session is equal to a whole day spent at the beach.

Check your medications. Some things you take internally or apply to your skin can cause skin sensitivity. Among the medicines that can cause this are certain antibiotics and birth control pills. Topical products that can cause sun sensitivity include alpha hydroxy acids and benzoyl peroxide. You need to be especially careful in the sun if you use these. Check with your doctor or pharmacist to determine if what you use on your face or take internally would make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Don’t stop taking any medications without your doctor’s orders.

Try fading creams. Look for over-the-counter fading creams containing hydroquinone. Make sure to buy a preparation that comes in a tube or pump so the product is not repeatedly exposed to air and light. This would cause the ingredients to break down and become ineffective. Follow the directions and precautions on the package.

Be consistent. Even a few minutes of unprotected sun exposure each day will add up, such as the rays your skin absorbs from walking to the mailbox and getting in and out of your car. And don’t rely on your car or house windows to shield you from the rays, because most of the pigment-causing UV rays still come through them. You will set yourself back in your skin-lightening endeavor if you aren’t consistent in your efforts.

What causes freckles?
Freckles are flat tan, brown or black spots that appear over time on areas of skin that have been exposed to the sun. Freckles are common among those with lighter skin who sunburn easily. Age spots, which appear later in life, are superficial collections of the skin pigment melanin which occur within the top layer (epidermis) of the skin. Freckles and age spots, classified as symptoms of

photoaging, are commonly found on the face and hands, or any other part of the body that

has been overexposed to the sun.

The basic cause of freckles is special cells in the skin that produce a pigment called melanin. Melanin is what gives skin its color. Sunlight hitting the skin causes the production of more melanin in order to protect the skin layers underneath. If you have melanin that builds up in one place, it will result in freckles. Sunlight also causes freckles already present to become darker. Dark skin that appears during pregnancy or while on birth control pills is called melasma, or the mask of pregnancy. Sun exposure makes these patches and spots even darker. Flat, large spots on the skin in middle age are caused by sun exposure, and are known as age spots, liver spots, or lentigines. Sun exposure is also powerful enough to change certain skin cells into dangerous skin cancers, leading physicians to recommend protective sunscreen and clothing. These actions can also help slow the appearance of both freckles and age spots. For those who already have any brown, discolored lesions, an in-depth consultation should be scheduled with a physician. He or she will perform a careful examination to determine that these spots are not pre-cancerous. This can develop on the skin causing growths that have irregular borders and strange colors such as black, red or pink. Look for spots that don’t heal, have lack of symmetry, or are of a large size. See a dermatologist if you have any spots on your skin that look suspicious.

How do freckles develop?
Freckles are caused by uneven distribution of skin pigment melanin in the skin. Freckles become more prominent when exposed to sunlight because the skin produces extra melanin in sunny conditions. The sun and sun-tanning lights emit ultraviolet (UV) rays. After exposure to sunlight, the outer layer of the skin (the epidermis) thickens and the pigment-producing cells (the melanocytes) in the

skin produce the pigment melanin at an increased rate. After exposure to sunlight,

the outer layer of the skin thickens and the
pigment-producing cells in the skin produce melanin at an increased rate. (This gives some protection against future sun exposure.)

People differ of course a great deal in their reaction to sunlight. To take an extreme example, there is no pigmentation in the skin of an albino because of a defect in melanin metabolism. On the other hand, people with dark complexions are relatively less sensitive to sun exposure than fair-skinned persons. However, persons with dark skin are not entirely resistant to the effects of the sun and they, too, can become sunburned with prolonged exposure. Persons with blonde or red hair are especially susceptible since they tend to be the fairest skinned. Irrespective of skin color, it is the uneven distribution of the melanin pigment in the skin that results in freckling. A freckle is nothing more than an unusually heavy deposit of melanin at one spot in the skin.

Freckles, age spots and pregnancy mask have several things in common. They are formed in sun exposed areas: face, hands, chest and back. These unwelcome brown patches are nothing more than accumulation of skin pigment melanin which is always produced by the skin. The amount of melanin present determines the skin tone of an individual. Extra melanin is produced by the body in response to sun exposure. It absorbs UV rays and does not allow them to penetrate deep into the skin layers as it would be damaging.
